Job Summary
Non-DOT Handlers are responsible for loading and
unloading FedEx aircraft, containers, and vehicles depending
upon the location you are working. You must be at least 18
years of age or older to qualify for this position.
Candidates will work 17.5-20 hours a week. Pay rate is
$11.55/hr. plus benefits.
All positions at FedEx Express require you to have at the
time of application a High School Diploma or GED.
"Some FedEx Express positions may involve handling U.S.
mail and/or SIDA clearence. Those positions involving
handling and access to U.S. Mail require clearance by USPS.
USPS will not grant clearance to anyone who has not resided
in the U.S. continuously for the past five years [excluding
service in the U.S. military]."
General Requirements
You will be working at an airport location, you will have
to pass a SIDA clearence check, which means you are
authorizied and cleared by the FBI to work at such a
facility.
High school diploma/G.E.D. Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 lbs
with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another
person. Ability to successfully complete all basic and
recurrency training. Valid driver's license when required
if operating equipment. Effectively communicate verbally in
a time sensitive manner in noisy operations
environment.
General Duties of the Job:
Loads and unloads aircraft, containers,
and company vehicles in a safe and efficient
manner.
Ensures cargo is properly secured and
tied down.
Audits size and weight of packages to
ensure conformance with service requested.
Separates packages by service type and
destination, in accordance with established procedures.
Ensures the use of safety procedures in
handling packages.
Assists in directing aircraft to proper
ramp locations. Performs ramp functions in accordance with
established FedEx policies and procedures.
Cleans and paints ensuring compliance
with corporate appearance standards.
All systematical transactions related
to stock supply such as: stocking, receiving, transfers,
returns, etc. when assigned to stock supply area.
Checks materials for system records
match, packaging and obvious physical damage/defects,
following established policies/procedures for disposition if
required. Performs inventory stock audits when assigned to
stock supply area.
Maintains inventory of personal
uniforms and safety equipment in accordance with corporate
standards when assigned to stock supply.
Operates mechanized ramp equipment to
fulfill the needs of the job, as required, but is not the
primary focus of responsibility.
